Key benchmark indices on Friday sustained losses after hitting a fresh intraday low as droop in IT shares on concern over H-1B visas with negative trend in European markets. On closing, the index, the BSE Sensex, was down 119.27 points or 0.44% at 26,759.23. The Nifty50 index down 30 points or 0.36% at 8,243.80 after testing its key resistance of 8300 level in the morning trade.
The BSE Midcap also cut all its gains to slip in red 0.27%. The index had risen nearly 0.7 percent in intraday trade, while BSE Smallcap was down 0.43%. About 1512 shares suffered, against 1202 advancing shares on the BSE.
On the global outlook, investors awaited US Non-farm Payroll data due later in the day. Among Asian markets, China’s Shanghai Composite & Japan’s Nikkei was down 0.3 percent each, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index added 0.15 percent. Money Maker Research
